Thor Falk came to Winter Park in 1978 as a freshman at Rollins College.  Graduating in 1982, his first job was working as a manager at the East India Ice Cream Company – a place many in Winter Park remember fondly!  He obtained his MBA from the University of Central Florida where he began a career in Marketing Research.  After many years in the industry, he opened his own firm Falk Research Associates, Inc. in 2000.

Thor founded the Winter Park PRIDE Project because he believes LGBTQ+ members of our community and visitors need to know they are valued, welcomed and celebrated in Winter Park.

"I can't wait to see Winter Park filled with rainbows!"

As soon as Steffen heard about the Winter Park Project 1000 Flag Initiative, he immediately got involved and started spreading the word.  Given his enthusiasm and energy, he was the perfect candidate to serve on the Winter Park PRIDE Project Board of Directors.

Addison Durrell is a Client Advisor with Seacoast Bank, whose passion is fueled by his love for helping others. Addison grew up in Vero Beach, Florida with four half-siblings and was raised by his mom to be an accepting, loving, and compassionate individual. He believes above all else that those who are given the gift of life should be able to lead that life with their own passion and desires, whilst staying true to oneself.  A straight ally, Addison recalls being questioned about his sexuality while growing up. Regardless of this, he notes that the bigger question should be, “Why did it matter?” He always thought you could be different, you should be different, and people deserved to be proud of those differences.

Addison wanted to take these ideas and dreams of a more accepting and loving community and putting them to work by serving on the Winter Park Pride Project Board of Directors.  Addison has found true inspiration in the words of Barbara Gittings, a monumental figure in the fight for LGBT Civil Rights, “Equality means more than passing laws. The struggle is really won in the hearts and minds of the community, where it really counts.”
