Inclusion isn't shaped only by policies or proclamations. It's shaped in everyday moments — how we greet one another, whose stories we make space for, and whether people feel safe being fully themselves in the places they live, work, and gather.
Our Mission
The Winter Park PRIDE Project works to increase LGBTQ+ visibility in Winter Park Florida and raise funds for organizations that provide community programs and activities for LGBTQ+ youth. We know that LGBTQ+ people and their allies exist in all corners of Winter Park. Our mission is to help them show their pride and show the world that Winter Park is a place of acceptance, inclusion and love.
Our History
The Winter Park PRIDE Project is modeled after the Hingham, Massachusetts Pride Project which enjoyed its first year in 2020. The Hingham Pride Project had a goal of 1000 Pride Flags flying throughout the community during Pride Month 2020 (June). It was a success and ultimately benefited charities and youth in the LGBTQ+ community.
Showing Support
The Winter Park PRIDE Project is incorporated as a 501(c)(3) not for profit corporation. Our board of directors consists of people who live or work in Winter Park, Florida. This initiative will be most successful with the support of local residents, businesses, organizations, and chambers.
